It was my Sister's Birthday today and we decided to take her out for a Birthday Lunch @ Paris Deli. She had never been there before so I figured it would be a new and good experience for her.
The compound looked pretty small from the outside and the entrance may be easy to miss while driving along Akin Adesola but the interior is way more spacious. Parking is pretty tight but to be honest, the same goes for almost all other businesses in Victoria Island.
You can use Frenchies Bakery as a landmark to Paris Deli. If you proceed down Akin Adesola St. as though you were headed towards Bar Beach, you'll pass by Adeola Odeku St. on your right and eventually Frenchies Bakery. Take the first U-turn (at this point Saka Tinubu St. should be on your right) and you should be directly in front of Paris Deli, it's just beside a Zenith Bank branch.
The building from the outside is neat and good-looking and there are a couple of tables positioned near the entrance for those who prefer the outdoor experience. On moving in i could count maybe 12 tables; almost all were packed with families eating out, friends catching up and individuals chilling and browsing the net.
The interior had a nice ambiance, bright colors, good decor, and the smell of freshly baked pastries and food filled the air. The only downside: public smoking was allowed with no designated smoking/non-smoking areas so be forewarned if you plan to bring infants or have any issue with second-hand smoke.
There were a lot of items on display including an assortment of cakes, pastries, biscuits, breads, fruits, salads, etc. These were just a few of the many items that could be found on the main Menu which also included items for breakfast, bread rolls, a variety of salads, pasta, spaghetti, burgers, soft drinks, milkshakes, Chapman, etc and off course coffee.
From the cake slices section we selected a coconut and cream cake, fresh fruit cake with a biscuit base and a sponge cake covered in white chocolate flakes. For the main course we had a Crab Salad with vinegar and Cheese Burgers, which came with french fries and coleslaw. We washed it down with mugs of Chapman.
The prices were a bit on the high side, similar to Cactus Dining on Ozumba Mbadiwe but the food was fantastic and the homely and family-like atmosphere was perfect for just eating, lounging and casual gisting. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
